BVB star Ryerson enjoys a beach vacation at Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio!
BVB star Julian Ryerson (27) is currently enjoying a short vacation at the famous Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. He shared a picture on his Instagram profile that shows him having a drink in front of the impressive Sugarloaf Mountain. This comes as preparations begin for the upcoming Club World Cup in Dortmund on June 2nd.
His teammate Yan Couto (22) is also spending a break in Brazil, while other BVB players, such as Gregor Kobel, are on vacation in Greece and Ramy Bensebaini in Algeria. Another important topic surrounding BVB revolves around Karim Adeyemi (23), who plans to extend his contract early. This currently runs until 2027. An early extension could prove useful as Adeyemi was coveted by several clubs, including Juventus, last season.
Talents looking for playing time
While Ryerson and Adeyemi are grabbing some headlines, the three talents Kjell Wätjen, Almugera Kabar and Cole Campbell have received new professional contracts but have seen little playing time under new head coach Niko Kovač. They were used more frequently under former coach Nuri Şahin, which has now led to the idea of considering a loan deal for the next few months. Several clubs from the 1st and 2nd leagues have already signaled interest in the trio.
A decision on the young players' sporting future is expected in the coming weeks, ideally before the Club World Cup in America.
Partnership with Evonik extended
Aside from the sporting activities, there is also significant news from BVB management. Borussia Dortmund has extended its partnership with Evonik. After almost 20 years as a jersey sponsor, the chemical company becomes BVB's “Champion Partner”. Norbert Ness, Head of Strategic Communications at Evonik, emphasized the long duration of the collaboration and the positive experiences on both sides.
BVB managing director Carsten Cramer emphasized the trust and successful development of the partnership, which is planned for the next five years. In the future, the cooperation will focus on sustainability and health. Evonik, headquartered in Essen and active in over 100 countries, achieved impressive sales of 15.2 billion euros in 2024 and employs around 32,000 people.
These developments demonstrate BVB's ambitious plans both on and off the pitch as players prepare for important challenges while strengthening positive partnerships.
