Peggy March: At 77, new dreams and no retirement plans!

American singer Peggy March continues to delight audiences at the age of 77. Made famous in the 1960s with her hit “You still have dreams at 17,” March describes her life today as full of strength and lightness. “For me, music isn’t work, it’s a passion,” she reveals in a recent interview. Dreams and wishes are essential for the artist; without it you are “really dead”. Peggy March wants to stay healthy in the future so that she can pursue her passion. She points out that she has no plans to retire and already has a full calendar of performances, including a music cruise and a concert in Munich. March currently lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is active in both America and Europe.

As part of her 60th anniversary, she recorded a new version of her most famous song together with singer Oli.P, which for her represents a declaration of love for the future. “I don’t see myself as a retired pop singer, but as a traveler and artist who appreciates the little things in life,” she continues. She is convinced that one dreams more consciously and clearly at 77 than at 17, which makes her artistic career, which began in the 1960s, particularly remarkable.

Artistic career

Peggy March, also known as "Little Peggy March", began her career at the age of 15 with the hit "I Will Follow Him", which reached number 1 in the US charts and later became a success in many countries, including New Zealand and Australia. By 1964 she had five hits in the US Top 100 and won the German Schlager Festival in Baden-Baden in 1965 with “At 17 you still have dreams”. This success opened the doors for her to perform internationally.

March has toured worldwide, including 33 times to Japan, and sang in a total of nine different languages. Some of her notable hits include “On Carnaby Street”, “Canale Grande Number One” and many others. In the late 1970s she won the Palma Music Festival with “You and I” and enjoyed commercial success with “Fly Away Pretty Flamingo” in Germany. In addition to her musical career, she also began writing lyrics and working as a copywriter for other artists.

A look into the future

In recent years, Peggy March has released several albums, including jazz standards Get Happy and You're Never Too Old to Dream. Her commitment to music remains unchanged. Through her artistic successes and her tireless pursuit of new projects, she inspires many people and shows that you are never too old to live your dreams. As she toasts another successful year, the question remains: How many more dreams will Peggy March achieve in the years to come?
