Definelong hiking trails
How we define a long -distance hiking trail is clearly subjective. In the small old Great Britain, everything over 50 km (31 miles) is considered a "long distance"! For an international list, however, I laid the bar a little higher with at least 500 km (310 miles).
In view of this, the list could be slightly ten times longer, especially if we include all the Epic long -distance hiking trails in the United States. However, since we look at options from all over the world, I have limited the United States to one of its triple crown long-distance hiking trails.1. Appalachen path

The "AT" is perhaps the most famous of the Triple Crown Trail in the USA and leads through no fewer than 14 states!
worldwide became famous by Bill Bryson's book A Walk in the Woods from 1998, which was recently filmed in a Hollywood film with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte, the path leads through eight National Forest, two national parks and on average crossing a street. This is a real survival path that requires a lot of wild camps in the Patagonian Andes. The route crosses only a few streets and even fewer cities, so that navigation and logistical care represent a real challenge for through hikers.
Although it is not an official path, the route includes some official and many local horse paths that are entertained by local shepherds. This hiking trail is one of the loneliest, underdeveloped and remote - and therefore also one of the most original long -distance hiking trails.
