Variety of Vietnamese coffee

Vietnamese coffee has its own character due to its special history and preparation method. Vietnam is the second largest coffee producer in the world and specializes in Robusta coffee, such as Kaffeekracker.de reported. The traditional preparation takes place using a special coffee filter, the so-called “Phin”.

The process involves several steps: First, the filter is filled with ground coffee, then hot water is slowly added as the coffee drips over the filter. Sweetened condensed milk is then added and mixed well. Particularly popular variations are Cà Phê Sữa Đá, a caffeinated drink with ice, and Cà Phê Trứng, the popular egg coffee.

The combination of strong aromas and the creamy note of condensed milk makes Vietnamese coffee a very special experience. This preparation method allows the aroma to be extracted slowly, making it a flavorful drink. Vietnamese coffee culture is characterized by its diversity and uniqueness and stands out clearly from other global coffee traditions.
