Photos of the Temple and Pagoda by Bagan in Myanmar
A compilation of photos of the old temples and pagodas by Bagan in Myanmar (Burma). Including tips on how you can optimally use your visit to Bagan.
There are so many useful instructions on the Internet to find the best temples and pagodas from Bagan. However, I found that the best experience was to simply grab a scooter and explore it on your own. With over 4000 pagodas that need to be discovered, why don't go off the card in this case and hug your inner Indiana Jones.
Instead of writing a full guide to Bagan's temples and pagodas in the archaeological zone, I give you some short tips on how to make the best of this experience. The rest is up to you!
Oh, and of course you will find some photos and videos of these ancient miracles to inspire your trip!

Arrival to Bagan
The best way to get to Bagan and pretty much everywhere in Myanmar is the trip with long-distance night buses. There are well-connected bus lines between Bagan and other tourist centers such as Yangon, Mandalay and the Inle-See.
Since bus providers and timetables are constantly changing, it is best to use Bookaway in Myanmar for their long -distance travel needs.
For the locomotion in Myanmar, I wrote my own article that focuses on the Inle Lake, but there you can also get useful tips for Bagan. Look at it here.
Bagan Pagoda and Temple-Video
Here is a short 50-second video of some of the highlights of the archaeological zone of Bagan.
Where can you see pagoda in Bagan?
The Bagan Archaeological Zone is a huge area around Old Bagan, just a few kilometers from New Bagan. This area extends over a 13 x 8 flat level, on which you can find over 4000 bagan temples and pagodas and up to 10,000 religious monuments (including monasteries and statues).
You can rent an electric scooter at almost any place in New Bagan and explore the archaeological zone as you wish.
Bagan Archeological Zone Fee: 25,000 Kyat This fee must be paid at the ticket counter outside of New Bagan on arrival in Bagan. Make sure you carry your ticket with you while exploring the area because the guards sometimes ask for your ticket. Bagan Electric Scooter Price: 6000 Kyat per day (4 USD) You will find rental stations all over New Bagan and Nyaung U. I stayed in the Lux Pillow, and these boys organized a bike at a good price without trying. I can highly recommend a stay here if you are a backpacker or price -conscious traveler in Myanmar.

Sunrise on a roof pagoda
The far best way of experiencing Bagan's temple and pagodas is to find a place to watch the sunrise over the old levels.
Unfortunately, due to restrictions, many pagodas are cordoned off and a ascent to sunrise is no longer possible.
Nevertheless, it is still possible to find some selected places. Since these are constantly changing, I would suggest downloading the Maps.me app and finding current pins and comments where you can find the best sunrise in Bagan.
