60-year-old goes on an unforgettable motorcycle trip through Vietnam!

A 60-year-old retiree from Ha Long City, Mr. Pham Son, embarked on his life's adventure on a nearly 30-year-old Viva motorcycle in an impressive journey across Vietnam. He spent six months planning his route, which covered a total of almost 5,700 km. Mr. Son suffers from various underlying health conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure, which led him to take up to eight different medications daily.

The journey took place during the rainy season and he covered distances of around 430 km per day, even covering up to 570 km on some days. Despite the challenges, including the risk of weather, he always finished his rides by 6 p.m. A particularly memorable moment was on the 11th day of his trip, when he received his forgotten wallet containing essential medications back from a hotel employee.

Travel details and personal experiences

The trip lasted a total of 13 days, divided into six days on the outward journey and seven days on the return journey. During his stay, he once stayed overnight at a relative's house in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Son had a budget of VND10 million, which corresponded to his monthly pension expenses, and spent an average of about VND600,000 per day on his trip. His adventure not only boosted his confidence but also highlighted the importance of passion, money, time and health in the travel experience.

To maintain his health, Mr. Son goes for regular checkups and blood tests. In a country like Vietnam, where the climate varies greatly in northern and southern regions, it is particularly important to take care of your own health. Loud Tropical Institute Vietnam's rainfall season is from May to October, and the best time to visit is from November to April.

Health recommendations for travelers

Entry into Vietnam does not require any special vaccinations, but recommendations are made such as hepatitis B, typhoid and rabies. Travelers should seek individual advice, ideally six weeks before the trip. Vietnam is also known as a malaria country, although the risk in large cities is low and no medical prophylaxis is required.

The first aid kit should include, among other things, anti-mosquito agents, fever and pain medications, and disinfectants. In addition to mosquito repellent, it is recommended to only consume drinking water from bottled or boiled water and to pay attention to hygiene when eating. After returning from Vietnam, you are advised to see a doctor immediately if you feel unwell or have a fever.

Mr. Pham Son's journey through Vietnam is not only a personal adventure, but also an example of the challenges and joys of traveling in a country with rich culture and diverse climatic conditions. His experiences highlight the importance of health and preparation to make such trips safe and enjoyable.
