80 years of independence: huge exhibition inspires millions in Hanoi!

In Vietnam, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the national holiday, an impressive exhibition was opened under the motto “80 years of the journey of independence – freedom – happiness”. This was held from August 28 to September 5, 2025 at the National Exhibition Center in Co Loa, Dong Anh, Hanoi, with Vice Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh approving the plan to organize this exhibition. The exhibition was open to the public and visitors free of charge and attracted a total of approximately 6,680,000 visitors during its 13 days open, with visitor numbers exceeding 1 million on certain days.

A diverse program

The exhibition featured more than 230 booths showcasing Vietnam's achievements in a wide range of fields, including industry, agriculture, trade, culture, science and technology, and health and education. The presentation included documents, materials and artifacts as well as modern technologies such as 3D visualizations, virtual reality, audiovisual content and artificial intelligence. This reinforced the scientific, modern and professional design of the exhibition.

Special international presence

The international importance of the event was underlined by the visit of high-ranking delegations. Guests included the Secretary General and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, and the President of the Cambodian People's Party and the Cambodian Senate, Hun Sen. Additionally, military delegations from Russia, Laos, Cambodia and Cuba were present, along with delegations from various embassies.

The cultural spirit of Vietnam

Another focus of the exhibition was the presentation of the cultural traditions and spirit of the Vietnamese people. The event offered a comprehensive insight into the culture of Vietnam, which encompasses 4,000 years of history and a diversity of 54 ethnic groups. The experiential offerings highlighted significant developments in areas such as security, defense, foreign policy, health, education, culture, sport and tourism.

The exhibition will end on September 15, 2025 with a closing ceremony prepared by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This event represents not only Vietnam's progress and achievements, but also the people's deep connection to their country and its history.
