An Giang: Tourism is booming with spectacular types of events in 2025!
An Giang, a province in the Mekong Delta, is home to a variety of spiritual and cultural treasures that attract tourists from around the world. In April 2025, the region recorded around 1 million visitors, a number that remained stable compared to the previous year. However, the number of international visitors rose significantly by 52% to 3,800. This increase highlights the effectiveness of promotional strategies in the region, which is also supported by the annual Ba Chua Xu festival in lunar April, which attracts millions of pilgrims. Total tourism revenue, which reached VND1,200 billion this month, also shows a year-on-year increase of 9%.
In the first four months of 2025, the total number of visitors was 5.1 million, the same as last year, with 11,800 international guests, an increase of 12.3%. An Giang has developed numerous activities to attract tourists, including the “Traditional Cooking Culture” competition as part of the 14th Khmer Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival. In addition, the province also participated in major tourism events such as the Folk Cake Competition at the 12th Southern Folk Cake Festival in Can Tho City.
Spiritual diversity and cultural heritage
An Giang's cultural diversity is another reason for the region's attractiveness. Temples, mosques and pagodas dot the landscape and offer visitors a deep insight into the various religious traditions. Of particular note is the Lady of the Realm Temple, located at the foot of Sam Mountain and about 6 km from Chau Doc. This temple is not only a spiritual place but also a destination for many devotees who seek the blessings of the goddess.
There is also the Phuoc Dien Pagoda, also known as the Snake Pagoda, which is known for its inviting architecture and numerous Buddha statues. Another important religious center is the Mas Jid Khay Ri Yah Mosque, which serves Meercham Muslims and is notable for its distinctive dome with a crescent moon and five-pointed star.
Tourist offers and activities
Tourists in An Giang can take boat trips through the Cajuput forests during the flood season from September to November, which offers a unique natural experience. The region is also known for its culinary specialties, including:

The famous markets of Chau Doc and Tinh Bien offer a variety of Mekong Delta specialties and are well known not only to tourists but also to locals. More luxurious resorts start at VND 1.2 million per night.
With all these attractions and the planned implementation of the 2025 Tourism Economic Recovery Plan, An Giang is on a promising path to further develop its tourism sector. Planned activities include exhibition stands to promote tourism and an “Excellent Table Service 2025” competition. In the future, we will also work on improving staff quality through targeted training in order to further increase guest satisfaction.
The merger of An Giang and Kien Giang could additionally bring new impetus to the tourism industry while optimizing the development of infrastructure and human resources. Those interested can look forward to an exciting tourism offering in this diverse region.
