Binh Dinh: Inland ports in sight for booming sea tourism!
Binh Dinh Province in Vietnam is taking significant steps to improve inland water transport and promote maritime tourism. Pham Anh Tuan, chairman of the provincial People's Committee, has ordered the construction department to develop proposals for new inland waterway routes. The main aim of this initiative is to optimize the traffic flow for vehicles and develop the tourist infrastructure along the coast. The relevant departments are required to report to the People's Committee by June 20.
In addition, there are calls to plan the construction of inland ports specifically for ships carrying sea tourists. Coordination with community-level popular committees is essential to promote investment in the construction of docks for inland waterways and river passengers. These measures are intended to ensure that marine tourism continues to grow as a strength of the province.
Regulation and quality assurance
Regarding the safety and quality of tourism, the Quy Nhon Municipal People's Committee is tasked with regulating the operation of water entertainment facilities. This is necessary to ensure the sightseeing activities of tourists. Vehicles and drivers participating in inland waterway tourism activities must meet certain legal requirements. Vehicles that do not meet these requirements will be banned from the coastal areas of the province to ensure the transportation of passengers and tourists.
The development of marine tourism has led to an increase in attractive tourist destinations in Binh Dinh Province. Nevertheless, there are concerns about uncontrolled activities generated by spontaneous tourism services such as motorboats, canoes and jet skis. These issues could lead to chaos and a decrease in quality, which could have a negative impact on the image of tourism.
Investment steps for port modernization
Complementing these measures, Binh Dinh plans to invest over USD 290 million to upgrade ports suitable for vessels with a deadweight capacity of up to 50,000 DWT. These developments are part of a larger strategy to promote economic growth and strengthen infrastructures critical to maritime tourism. Such initiatives demonstrate the province's commitment to becoming a leader in maritime tourism in Vietnam while improving the quality and safety of services.
