Da Nang in a fireworks frenzy: Festival enchants millions of visitors!

Tourists are currently flocking to the central coastal city of Da Nang during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2025. The festival, which opened on May 31, 2025 and runs until July 12, 2025, attracts numerous visitors through its diverse service and tourism offerings. Not only are fireworks shows taking place during this time, but there is also a lively range of activities in accommodation and entertainment areas. The festival's motto, "Da Nang - The New Rising Era", symbolizes the city's innovation and development.

The main event program includes spectacular fireworks displays in a competition between ten teams from nine different countries, including Vietnam, Finland, England and many more. Vietnam has two teams: the Da Nang Fireworks Team and Z121 Vina Pyrotech, which is part of the Ministry of Defense. Each festival weekend features a new theme that includes artistic performances and creative competitions to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience.

Festival highlights and accompanying events

In parallel with the breathtaking fireworks displays, Sun Group offers exciting activities at parks, resorts and entertainment destinations. For example, Ba Na Peak hosts vibrant flower festivals, including sunflower and rose festivals, as well as culinary events. Downtown Da Nang creates a vibrant atmosphere in the evenings with traditional and modern festivals, music concerts and exciting entertainment shows.

Another highlight is the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, which is an ideal destination for tourists with hot mineral baths and mud baths. New this year is the introduction of the entertainment show “Animal Actors”, which features various animal performances. The Da Nang Tourism Association actively supports tourists in planning their stays so that they can take full advantage of everything on offer.

Expectations and visitor numbers

DIFF has been considered the city's iconic “event brand” since its founding in 2008 and has made a significant contribution to promoting tourism. Ho Thanh Tu, a tourism industry representative, highlights the high occupancy of accommodation and restaurants during the festival. DIFF 2025 is expected to attract between 4 and 4.5 million total visitors, an increase of 12 to 15% compared to 2024. The positive development in the service sectors, such as accommodation and catering, is a further indicator of the project's progress.

Additionally, DIFF 2025 will feature groundbreaking technological innovations, including the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) into a dedicated app designed to provide visitors with an immersive experience. This year, DIFF promises to be the longest and largest fireworks season in the festival's history, and the high turnout from visitors shows the great interest in this unique event.

The diverse offerings and lively atmosphere during DIFF 2025 will position Da Nang as an attractive, world-class regional tourist destination while encouraging the emergence of new tourism products.
