Da Nang Museum: AI transformation turns culture into an experience!
After extensive renovation, the Da Nang Museum presents itself as a modern center of culture and history that combines traditional values with advanced technology. A major highlight of the museum is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), which has fundamentally changed the visitor experience, making it a popular destination for national and international tourists, such as Vietnam.vn reported.
The use of a multilingual virtual assistant that provides information on over 100 artifacts and supports more than 20 languages demonstrates the museum's technological advancement. These functions are not only limited to the website, but also integrated into the fan page, messenger, WhatsApp and the online ticket sales system. An AI-integrated navigation robot capable of speaking over 10 languages complements the digital experience by answering questions and guiding attendees through the exhibition areas.
Innovative technologies in the museum
Visitors can look forward to personalized information about exhibits. The robot will even be expanded to over 50 languages in the future. Additionally, the HeriStepAI automated commenting system allows guests to hear information about artifacts in their chosen language. The Travist app complements these offerings with live language translations from tour guides.
The museum's digital transformation aims to analyze visitor behavior, personalize experiences and optimize content. Technological solutions such as an AI camera for location determination, a comprehensive navigation system, a 3D map and interactive games are also part of the future-oriented concept. Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien, the director of Da Nang Museum, emphasizes the crucial role of AI for museums to keep up with international standards.
Impact on tourism and cultural events
The digital transformation not only impacts the museum itself, but also the entire tourism industry in Da Nang. In the last three years, significant influence has been exerted on the business models of tourism companies. An intelligent surveillance system has been developed to identify illegal tour guide activities and has already uncovered over 3,000 cases of “underground guides”.
Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, highlights the benefits of AI in terms of service quality and business efficiency. Nguyen Quang, vice president of the Vietnam Hotel Association, describes the challenges and opportunities that AI brings to the industry. The use of technology is widely recognized as the key to competitiveness in Da Nang.
Additionally, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2025 (DIFF 2025) is announced, which will also integrate AR technology. Viewers will have the opportunity to scan paper tickets using the Sun Paradise Land app to enter a virtual reality space and experience stories about Da Nang. Six shows of the festival will highlight various AR themes and showcase the beauty of the city, which will further strengthen Da Nang's cultural attractions, such as Vietnamplus added.
