The big fruit festival 2025: A summer full of enjoyment and culture!

The 21st Southern Fruit Festival, which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from June 1 to August 30, 2025, combines tradition and modernity while celebrating the diversity of Vietnamese agricultural culture. Under the motto “Agriculture to preserve the roots – Nation to preserve the soul – Integration into time” this year, special attention will be paid to honoring farmers and preserving national culture. According to Vietnam, organizers report that the festival has been running for 20 years and this year will feature innovative activities that combine tourism, culture, trade and technology.

The festival expects a large number of visitors of all ages and aims to promote the image of Vietnam internationally. Highlights include a Ho Chi Minh City festival promoting agricultural products and a fresh tropical fruit market. Visitors have the opportunity to take part in a fruit picking experience and tour the high-tech farming model Suoi Tien Farm. There will also be a fruit art competition and a dramatization of the legend of Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh.

Cultural diversity and interactive experiences

Another important part of the festival is the Friendship Melody Event and the ASEAN Harmony Festival 2025, which are intended to strengthen cultural exchange. In addition, the Folk Game Area with the motto “Soul of the Countryside” and a water festival offer exciting activities for visitors. The Three Regions Food Street presents a variety of culinary highlights from Vietnam's different regions.

The focus is also on the incentives for visitors. On June 1st, children between 1m and 1.4m tall receive free entry, while excellent students can benefit from a 50% discount. There are also reduced entry prices for Vietnam Family Day on June 28th. The organizers also recommend combination tickets to make access to different attractions easier.

Expectations and number of visitors

Previous festivals have recorded between 800,000 and 1,000,000 visitors. This year, the number of participants is expected to be around 80% of the norm before the COVID-19 pandemic. To make travel easier, the new Metro Line 1, which is opening in the region, is also highlighted as an additional attraction.

A special highlight of the festival will be the durian, which is considered the main attraction with its characteristic aroma and taste. Organizers hope the combination of cultural performances, interactive experiences and the appeal of tropical fruits will attract both locals and international tourists.
