Teachers in Ninh Hai defend themselves against ban on school trips!
On May 18, 2025, union members from schools in Ninh Hai District, Ninh Thuan Province, expressed their displeasure over new guidelines that prohibit organizing field trips outside the province at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. According to a report by Vietnam.vn, these guidelines, which came into force on May 7, 2025, pose a challenge for schools as they entail financial losses and a possible loss of image for the travel agencies involved.
Ms. TH, a concerned teacher, shared that the planned excursion, scheduled for the end of May 2025, had a budget of over VND 150 million, which was financed by teachers' voluntary contributions.
Reactions to the new guidelines
The district education department, represented by Mr. Le Dang Huynh Son, has confirmed that the implementation of the new instructions must be strictly followed by the province. However, many teachers believe school trips should not be affected by the new rules and are calling for more flexibility when planning such activities.
Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, deputy chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, said that travel is not allowed due to the adopted instruction document, but solutions can be found in exceptional cases. In addition, the head of the Ministry of Interior of Ninh Thuan clarified that the division of administrative units should not have a negative impact on school units.
Developments in the maritime economy
Despite progress, there are challenges such as inadequate skills among fishing workers and outdated technology for harvesting and storage. Thus, Resolution No. 12 was adopted to promote the development of the maritime economy until 2025, with a view to 2030.
The goals are ambitious: an economic growth of the maritime economy of 16.3% and a total value of VND 5,359 billion by 2025, which would represent 30.15% of the total economic value. In addition, an increase in the average income of the coastal population is sought.
The planned measures to develop the maritime economy include diversifying fisheries and aquaculture, modernizing technologies and fishing fleets, and promoting science and education in the maritime sector.
The initiatives in Ninh Hai could help develop the region into a center for the provincial maritime economy while ensuring that national defense and security aspects are not neglected.
