Tourism push in Nghe An: Experts present new perspectives

On May 17, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh, Nghe An held a seminar on evaluating tourism products and services. This event followed a Famtrip program organized by a delegation of North Vietnamese travel and tourism companies as part of the 2025 Sen Village Festival. The discussion was attended by representatives from the Hanoi City Tourism Office, the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club and over 60 leading travel and tourism service providers. On the part of Nghe An Province, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, the director of the ministry, was present and opened the event.

The seminar was part of a comprehensive cooperation on tourism development between Nghe An and Hanoi for the year 2025. The cooperation between the ministries aims to specifically position the tourist destinations of Nghe An and Hanoi in the market. The Famtrip delegation visited several attractions in Nghe An from May 15 to 17, including the Kim Lien Relic Site and VinWonders Cua Hoi Theme Park.

Challenges and perspectives

The participants of the family trip were mostly positive about the potential and infrastructure of tourism in Nghe An. Nevertheless, existing problems were also addressed. The challenges include seasonal developments, a lack of unique products, as well as inadequate service quality and weak communication. Experts recommended developing seasonal routes and themed tours and improving digital experiences.

Mr. Tran Trung Hieu emphasized the importance of the survey delegation for product development and company networking. Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh concluded the discussion with thanks to the participants and a clear goal: to develop new tourism products and strengthen communication. Following the discussion, the Famtrip delegation visited the services in Muong Thanh Dien Lam Ecozone.

Role of the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club

The Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club, which celebrated its 15th anniversary on March 15, plays a significant role in promoting tourism in Hanoi and across Vietnam. Nguyen Trung Khanh, director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, highlighted how the club has contributed to improving tourist services and promoting Vietnam globally. Over the last 15 years, the club has received 17 recognitions from various ministries and organizations.

The club focuses on 15 countries whose citizens benefit from visa waivers and plans strategic partnerships with travel agencies, hotel investors and airlines. Recent activities included participating in the Tourism Stimulus Program 2025 and hosting the UNESCO Travel Fest 2025, which attracted around 800 participants. Environmental initiatives were also highlighted at the 15th anniversary.

By combining tourism promotion and social projects, especially for those affected by natural disasters, the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club demonstrates a strong commitment to the region and improving the quality of life of its citizens. The club, which was founded in 2009 and has 800 members from Hanoi and surrounding provinces, will help develop and implement programs that further optimize Vietnam's tourism prospects.

These developments illustrate the efforts on both sides to increase the tourism potential in Nghe An and Hanoi and to intensify cooperation between the regions. You can find more information on Vietnam.vn and Hanoitimes.vn.
