Da Nang conquers the Middle East: Emirates' new flight route starts!

A significant workshop organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City in collaboration with Emirates Airlines was held on May 20, 2025. The aim of this event was to strengthen the connectivity of the tourism market with the Middle East and celebrate Emirates' new flight route to Da Nang. Participants included representatives from Da Nang International Airport, the investment and operating company for the international terminal, as well as over 100 representatives from travel companies and agencies from the GCC countries.

The workshop provided an overview of tourism in Da Nang, including details on infrastructure, quality products and services, resort tourism and MICE tourism. The city of Da Nang, the third largest city in Vietnam after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, has established itself as an up-and-coming destination. Emirates Airlines plans to offer four flights per week to Ho Chi Minh City from June 2, 2025, also part of a broader strategy to attract sophisticated customers from the Middle East and Europe.

Tourist highlights in Da Nang

Da Nang is known for its modern architecture and spectacular bridges, especially the Dragon Bridge, which offers an impressive fire and water show at night. The coastal city, located on the Hàn River and the South China Sea, is surrounded by rolling hills. Popular attractions include river cruises and the Ba Na Hills, with the famous Golden Bridge suspended between two monumental stone hands.

The city also offers a variety of historical and religious sites, including the Chua Linh Ung Temple and a large Guanyin Buddha statue on the Son Tra Peninsula. My Khe Beach, with its white sand and coconut trees, attracts many visitors and is known for clear waters and breathtaking sunsets.

Interest from the Middle East

During the workshop, special emphasis was placed on promoting Halal certified products, luxury accommodation and personalized experiences for Middle Eastern tourists. Delegates from GCC countries showed keen interest in visa policies, entry procedures and support mechanisms for travelers. This shows the potential of the Middle East as an important international tourism sector for Da Nang.

The Marble Mountains, known for their caves, murals and pagodas, as well as the local cuisine with dishes such as Mi Quang (rice noodles in turmeric broth) and various rice paper rolls, make Da Nang a standout destination.

Overall, the workshop underlines the city's efforts to further strengthen its tourism position on the international map and to develop attractive offers for travelers from the Middle East.
