20,000 euros for Sylt: Gala of Hope for the self-help group GGS!

The support association “Gesucht Gefunden Sylt” (GGS) was pleased to receive a generous donation of 20,000 euros from the “Neighbors by Dorint” foundation. This support is used for the important work of the association, which is committed to helping people in need on Sylt. The donation was presented at a gala in the Dorint Hotel in Düsseldorf, to which the members of the association were invited. Sylt mirror reports that several members, including Anke, Conny, Heike, Sandro and the author of the article, took part in the event while Achim and Ulrike were absent.

The members covered the costs of their flights and additional tickets themselves, whereas hotel accommodation was financed from the club's treasury. On Friday evening, the members took the opportunity to stroll along the Rhine and prepare for the gala. To present the performance in the best light, a cell phone tripod was purchased for the live stream, and the ladies practiced their speech as well as their hairstyles and makeup.

An unforgettable gala evening

The gala featured an exquisite menu with delicacies such as caviar, tuna and beef fillet. There were also raffle prizes, including VIP tickets for tennis tournaments. The evening began with a performance by comedian Ingolf Lück before GGS went on stage at 9 p.m. Conny and the author gave an emotional speech and a film about the association's work was shown. Those present felt a strong sense of cohesion and support from the community on Sylt.

After their performance, the members were greeted with applause and numerous souvenir photos were taken with Dorint director Barbara Richter. The celebration included other performances, including a live performance by Max Mutzke, as well as a photo booth decorated with Disney characters. The author concluded by reflecting on the importance of the association and warmly thanked Dorint and Sylt for their support.

The “Neighbors by Dorint” foundation

The purpose of this foundation includes the support of individuals, families, non-profit associations, foundations and societies that support needy, socially weak, sick and disabled people. The foundation acts as a legal foundation under civil law for an indefinite period and also offers its support abroad.
