Aeschi Tourism focuses on family-friendliness and new experiences!
The general meeting of Aeschi Tourism took place on May 18, 2025, where a number of topics were discussed that will shape the future of tourism in the municipality of Aeschi. Among the points discussed were the continuation of the NRP project and the re-election of board members. In particular, Sonja Mösching, the vice president, and Bruno von Allmen, the community representative, were confirmed in their positions. Loud platformj.ch Family-friendliness is a central theme for the upcoming developments.
An essential part of the strategic planning is the continuation of the NRP project “Repositioning the community of Aeschi as a family destination”, which will be in full swing in 2024. Those responsible are optimistic about the innovations that have already taken place - for example, on April 5th a new ball track with twelve ball tracks was opened between Aeschiried and Aeschi.
Innovations and challenges
The innovations also include the introduction of the ball machine and continuous signage, which will benefit both local and visiting guests. To strengthen regional identity, Aeschi-style placemats were also introduced in local restaurants. The redesign and revision of the fill-in form for the themed trails as well as the improved signage also contribute to increasing the experience value.
The number of overnight stays registered in 2024 amounted to 46,354, which represents a decrease of 6.57% compared to the previous year. Another point of concern is the decline in Suldtalbus ridership, which has fallen to 1,337 - a drastic decline compared to 1,920 riders in 2023. These developments could be due to the weather-related valley closures, which limited access to popular hiking and recreation areas.
Suldtal nature reserve
The adjacent Suldtal, an attractive destination for nature lovers, offers blooming mountain meadows, magnificent forests and a rushing torrent. This nature reserve is home to shy species of game and birds, including a majestic pair of golden eagles, as well as rare flowers and plants. Botanical excursions are offered to inform visitors about the flora in the Suldtal. There are numerous places along the Suldbach that are ideal for relaxing, barbecuing or picnicking.
The Gasthaus Suld can be reached in about an hour from Aeschiried, and a car trip to the Suldtal is also available. However, it is recommended to buy a parking ticket at the entrance to the valley, which is valid at all parking spaces in the Suldtal. Vacationers should allow enough time for parking and place the ticket visibly behind the windshield. It is also recommended to use the post bus to the Suldtal from July to October in order to be able to enjoy the beautiful natural landscape without having to worry about parking. The timetable for the Suldtal 2025 special bus is already available and offers a convenient travel option for visitors.
With a positive annual profit of 26,998.20 francs and solid budget discipline, Aeschi Tourismus plans to continue making targeted investments in the future to further increase the attractiveness of the community and to successfully finalize the NRP project. Events such as the federal celebration and the traditional Alpabzug are also part of the future planning.
