Champions League final in Munich: tourist storm and mega events!

München, Deutschland - On May 31, 2025, the large Champions League final will take place in the Allianz Arena in Munich, an event that also speaks great interest even without the partial name of FC Bayern Munich. Despite the fact that FC Bayern left Inter Milan in the quarter -finals, hotels and gastronomy in the city are optimistic.

The Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association expects 90,000 overnight stays of foreign guests. This leads to a touristy additional sales of 46 million euros expected by the city of Munich. The economic influence would have been significantly lower if FC Bayern had reached the final.

advertising and festivities in the city

In the days before the final, the city is shaped by advertising posters and banners of a cola sponsor, whose advertising face Florian Wirtz is in Munich. The anticipation for the event can also be felt by the planned appearances by Linkin Park and David Garrett in the stadium. The ticket prices are variable and are between 180 euros for the cheapest and 950 euros for the most expensive places, while the middle tickets are around 650 euros

Munich has been hosting the Champions League final for the fifth time, after previous editions in 1979, 1993, 1997 and 2012, when Bavaria lost the final in penalty shooting against Chelsea. The city has set up three fanzones for the event that offer space for over 60,000 fans:

  • Odeonsplatz: 16,000 places for inter-fans
  • Königsplatz: 23,000 places for PSG fans
  • Olympiapark: "Champions Festival" for a further 23,000 fans

The program in the Olympiapark starts on Thursday and moves the fans to Munich with a diverse offer. The day before the final, the "UEFA Ultimate Tournament" will take place in the SAP Garden, in which football greats such as Lothar Matthäus, Kaka, Luis Figo and Clarence Seedorf will take part.
