Museum Day in Ergoldsbach: Discover the history and culture!

On May 22, 2025, an inspiring project viewing tour took place on the occasion of International Museum Day, organized by the Local Action Group (LAG) Landkreis Landshut e. V. The event focused on the market town of Ergoldsbach and offered participants the opportunity to gain valuable insights into local projects.

The first stop on the tour was the Goldbach MUSEUM, which was open to the public on this special day. Mayor Ludwig Robold and LAG managing director Karoline Bartha welcomed those present and led them through the new permanent exhibition “Z'samm”, which was curated by Ludwig Kunert, chairman of the museum association. This exhibition not only offered information about the local history, but also about the special personalities of the region and the development steps of the museum.

Commitment and support

Another important aspect of the tour was the report on the museum's costs, financing and the funding programs involved. This is particularly relevant since the projects in the Landshut region are supported by the LEADER funding program. The fitalPARCOURS, which was developed in collaboration with TSV Ergoldsbach, was the second station. This exercise offer was specifically tailored to the needs of footballers and the Fit50Plus sports group and is available free of charge to all residents of the LAG region.

In her remarks, Karoline Bartha thanked the Ergoldsbach market and the Goldbach Museum e.V. association. V. for the close cooperation. The LAG is also dedicated to central issues such as quality of life, regional identity, art and culture, monument protection as well as economic development and tourism development.

Call for support for rural areas

An important point of the event was the current petition from ELARD, the umbrella organization of local action groups, to ensure the promotion of rural areas. Interested parties have until June 6, 2025 to cast their vote for this important initiative in order to secure future projects. Further information is available on the ELARD website.

On International Museum Day, which took place on May 18, 2025, the social role of museums and the opportunity to participate in various analog and digital actions should be highlighted. The participating museums in Bavaria were developed with the support of the LAG and funded through LEADER to facilitate access to culture and raise awareness of the region's cultural treasures.

Visitors were invited to experience the events planned at the Goldbach MUSEUM, including a tour of the permanent exhibition and a walk to the fitalPARCOURS in the local recreation area. The environmentally friendly journey by train was recommended in order to support the region's climate goals. You had to provide your own food and participation was free.

For anyone interested in the event, further information about International Museum Day and the open museums in Bavaria is available on the LAG website and other relevant platforms.
