The youth welfare committee of the city of Bocholt plans important changes in the guidelines for promoting children in day care. These new regulations that come into force on August 1, 2025 aim to improve the framework conditions for caregivers in the region and to better consider the needs of families. The most important points are to determine a continuation rate of 9.49 percent that is crucial for the financing of child day care. In addition, the rental grants are adjusted. For rented rooms, up to 81.60 euros per place and month can be granted as a grant, while in large day care centers an amount of 10.56 euros per square meter is set.

Financial support for parents

Another significant change is the increase in the investment allowance to 575 euros per place, which also applies to large day care centers. Parents can be relieved by various financial support options. According to the Family portal NRW , parents are entitled to liberation of daycare contributions or grants based on their parents' income. This support is particularly important for families with low incomes that receive civil allowance, child surcharge or similar services, for example.

The changes to the guidelines in Bocholt also represent a new handling of closing days. In the future, a maximum of 27 days a year may be declared as closing days, which must be coordinated with the parents. These “closing days” replace the previous term “vacation”, and in the future pedagogical training courses will also be included in the future.
