CDU members from Pattensen celebrate volunteering on a trip to Berlin!

In May 2025, committed members of the CDU from Pattensen and the Sehnde local association went on a joint trip to Berlin under the motto “Thank you, volunteering”. Member of the Bundestag Tilman Kuban invited the participants to honor their voluntary commitment, which significantly shapes the CDU's municipal work. Dirk-Hermann Frank and Stefanie Behrends from Pattensen-Mitte as well as Astrid Schunder from Koldingen and Sebastian Krüger from Jeinsen took part in the trip.

The tour to Berlin took place over several days and included a varied program. The participants had the opportunity to have a personal exchange with Tilman Kuban and were able to attend a plenary session in the German Bundestag. Another highlight of the trip was the visit to the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial, which offered a deep insight into German history.

Varied program

There was also a classic city tour that presented some of Berlin's most famous sights. Another item on the program was a visit to the Palace of Tears on Friedrichstrasse, which is reminiscent of the history of the division of Germany. A trip to the Federal Ministry of Defense was also on the agenda.

The participants were very positive about the trip and thanked Tilman Kuban for the invitation and for the valuable impressions they were able to gain during their stay. They appreciated the open conversations and personal exchanges that made this stay special.

Four members of the Sehnde local association took part in the tour: Jens Reimann, Michael Prehn, Finn Georg Wilk and Sven Karl Wiegand, who were accompanied by Sven Taschen from the Ilten local association. They also expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to take part in this extraordinary trip and to experience the political reality in Berlin up close. Viewers agree that such initiatives are important to promote and recognize voluntary work in society.

In summary, this trip shows the importance and appreciation of volunteer work, which shapes social life in municipalities, and offers those involved the opportunity to gain insights into the political processes of the federal government.
