Although only a stone's throw from the popular Senggigi and Kuta Lombok, Sekeotong from tourism is relatively untouched. As a result, those who take the trip are rewarded with an authentic Lombok travel experience, from incredible islands to jura hobs!
Where is Sekotong?
Before we deal directly with the best activities in Sekotong Lombok, maybe ask yourself: "Where's SeKotong?" Sekotong Barak is located in the southwestern corner of the island of Lombok, Indonesia. It makes a large part of the southwestern region and has some unique coasts and epic islands to discover.

How do you get to Sekotong?
The journey to Sekotong is relatively simple, regardless of whether you come from Senggigi, Kuta Lombok, Lombok International Airport or even Bali!
Since there is still no solid tourist infrastructure in Sekotong, you have to organize transport yourself. We paid about 17 USD from Senggigi for a Blue Bird Taxi that we divided. This will probably be the cheapest and simplest solution to get to Sekotong.
expect about 1.5 to 2 hours for the trip to Seghigi and Kuta Lombok.
If you arrive from Lombok Airport, I recommend that you book a private transfer agreed in advance. This saves you to pay ridiculous prizes that come from the goal.

1. Gili Nanggu Sekotong snorkeling excursion
The most popular activity in Sekotong Lombok is a visit to the epic Sekotong snorkeling island of Gili Nanggu. This island is only a short 20-minute leap from the small boat harbor near Lembar in Sekotong.
To get here, you can try to exchange a boat price at the ferry terminal. Usually these boats absorb between 6 and 10 people and can stop on some of the other Sekotong Islands on the way.
The Gili Nanggu boat price varies depending on the boat and place where you book it. In general, however, they are between 200,000 and 300,000 Rupiah per person. If you want to book in advance, you can also arrange the boat trip to Gili Nanggu.
This island is famous for your healthy coral reef and huge swarms of fish. While you don't find clubs and bars like in Gili Trawangan here, instead you can explore a quiet tropical island surrounded by epic coral reefs and sea creatures.

2. 3-island snorkeling and camping trip to the Sekotong Islands
One of my absolute favorite adventures in Sekotong and probably all of Lombok was an epic island hopping and camping trip overnight.
I booked this trip to Feel Lombok, a local family travel operator. We started snorkeling on Gili Nanggu, drove through the Sekotong Islands and finally spent the night on a tiny sandbar called Gili Kedis.

3. Explore the epic beaches of Sekotong
In Sekotong there are not only 12 large “Secret Gili” Islands to explore, in this southwestern region you will also find some of the best beaches of Lombok!
The best way to explore the beaches and the coast is to rent your own motorcycle. However, this can be a little more difficult to organize than in places like Kuta Lombok. One of the only places I was ready to rent a motorcycle was next to the Krisna Bungalows. The price was 60,000 Rupiah per day.

As soon as you have your two bikes, I would suggest driving to the Elak Elak Beach on the north coast. This is an epic, white sandy beach with a small island to which you can run at low tide!

Another of my favorite beaches in the area is Mekaki Beach. To get here, you have to drive over the mountains through the interior of Central Sekotong until you reach the south coast. Visiting the Mekaki Beach is certainly one of the best activities in Sekotong and probably one of Lombok's best -served secrets! It is an epic beach to surf and just chill out. The best thing is, we had the entire section of the beach for ourselves.

While it is certainly possible in Sekotong to rent a bike and explore the beaches, you can alternatively book a cheap private tour to all of these beaches online.
4. Explore the New Mountain Roads with the motorcycle
On the way back from Mekaki Beach you will find a newly built street (2019) that meanders along the hilly south coast of Seitong. In my opinion, motorcycling through this Bergstrasse is one of the best activities in Sekotong.
The street is in an incredible state, which means that you will be excused when you turn your eyes away to enjoy the view of the coast. There are many ways to park your bikes and take panorama recordings from the mountains.
My advice is to take the street to the east after leaving Pantai Mekaki and follow her all the way before turning back to the north to Lembar.

5. Go dive
Unfortunately I didn't have time to dive in Sekotong. However, Sekotong is known as one of the best dive sites in Lombok, especially if you are interested in macol life!
There are a few diving bases in Sekotong, and since the location is a little far from the main tourist attractions, you get a great diving offer here!
Most diving shops are near Pelangan, but if you book online, most shops should offer free transportation of lembar or accommodation closer to the port.

Overnight in Sekotong
Because this reign is a bit hidden. In order to save money for transport, I would recommend that a few nights in this largely unexplored part of Lombok, Indonesia, stay to see the best things you can do. Here are my top tips for inexpensive accommodations.
My Sekotong accommodation: Krisna Bungalowskrisna Bungalows and Restaurant is located in Pelangan, not far from the port of Sekotong. Sekotong Beach is just a step away from the door of the room. Each double room is equipped with a fan and a bathroom and is cheaply in a quiet area. You also get a free breakfast and there is a motorcycle rental next door so that you can explore the best things you can do in Sekotong yourself!

Budget Homestay: Pelangi Homestaypelangi Homestay Bungalow has a sun terrace and a garden as well as its own beach area. There are Wi-Fi throughout the building and there is a free breakfast included. The Pelangi Homestay Bungalow also offers snorkeling trips to the surrounding islands. This is a great accommodation and costs $ 17 per night.
