A trip to the Great Barrier Reef is one of the best tours available in Cape Tribulation. Due to its geographical proximity to the reef, Cape Tribulation offers one of the best opportunities to see the Great Barrier Reef on a day tour.

One of the few companies that offers reef snorkeling trips from Cape Tribulation is Ocean Safari. These guys run tours daily and provide everything you need for snorkeling on the reef. They'll also get you there in just 25 minutes, so you can make the most of your precious time in the tropics!

2. Solar Whisper Wildlife & Crocodile Tour

A visit to the Daintree simply isn't complete without seeing an estuarine (saltwater) crocodile. These are the largest crocodiles on earth and one of the best places to see them is on the Daintree River, south of Cape Tribulation.

The best crocodile watching tour is operated by Solar Whisper. These guys are the only zero emission wildlife cruises in the Daintree, running quiet electric motors that allow you to get closer to the crocodiles without disturbing them in their natural environment.

You'll find the Solar Whisper boats right next to the Daintree River Ferry, which is perfect if you're planning on heading to Cape Tribulation yourself.

3. Cape Tribulation Horse Riding Tour

Is a horseback ride on the beach on your wish list? Cape Tribulation is one of the best places in Australia to tick it off!

This Cape Tribulation tour departs twice daily and includes a guided horseback ride through the Daintree rainforest and the golden sands of Myall Beach. This was one of my favorite activities to book in Cape Tribulation and was surprisingly affordable too!

4. Guided night hike (animal observation)

The Daintree rainforest is the oldest in the world and also one of the most biodiverse. Wildlife is a big part of the Cape Tribulation experience and one of the most interesting ways to experience it is on a night walk!

You can either walk down to one of the many boardwalks yourself with a flashlight, or book a guided night hike with a professional wildlife observer. I'll be honest, I personally haven't done this particular Cape Tribulation tour, but the reviews online seem to be excellent.

5. Exotic fruit tasting

The tropical climate of Cape Tribulation and Daintree provides the perfect conditions for exotic orchards to thrive. There are a few orchards in Cape Tribulation including Wildwood and Cape Trib Farm.

However, only Cape Trib Farm is open to visitors for non-guest tours to taste freshly picked exotic fruits. The fruits offered vary depending on the season. However, I almost guarantee that they will contain at least a few fruits that you've probably never heard of!

All rooms have access to a landscaped garden and fire pits for grilling under the stars.

Best hostel in Cape Trib: Daintree Crocodylus Hostel For backpackers and those on a budget who prefer a more raw Daintree experience, I would recommend Crocodylus hostel. In Cow Bay, closer to the ferry but just a stone's throw from Cape Tribulation and Myall Beach, this hostel offers safari tent-style rooms built from wood and canvas, with high ceilings, fans and mosquito nets. All rooms have rainforest views and include access to their swimming pool!
