Ennepetaler Scouts: World travel adventure on Lake Constance!
On August 10th, 2025, the Ennepetal Boy Scouts held their summer camp on Lake Constance, which had the motto “World Tour”. This event attracted 29 participants aged 9 to 29, many of whom were attending such a camp for the first time. All of the tent and kitchen equipment was brought to the location in a van by three leaders, while the rest of the group traveled comfortably by ICE.
The tent camp initially took place near Langenargen and was then moved to Bodman-Ludwigshafen. Despite unsettled weather and daily rain showers, the mood remained consistently positive. A highlight of the culinary program was a variety of international dishes, including cheese spaetzle, Israeli shakshuka, American burgers and Asian noodle dishes.
Cultural experiences and activities
Among the numerous activities, a day trip to the flower island of Mainau, which was rounded off with a quiz rally, stood out. The program also included a city tour of Lindau and an exciting trip to a climbing forest. The joint sailing trip on Lake Constance was particularly unforgettable, during which the participants conquered the waves of the lake on a traditional sailing cutter.
The Olympic Games offered a mix of sporting and tricky disciplines, while an off-road game with stations about different countries, puzzles and challenges ensured team spirit. During sunny moments, the participants even had the opportunity to swim in Lake Constance. The final round at the scout home was an emotional moment in which the group reflected on their shared experiences.
There was agreement that another summer camp would be held next year, preferably under better weather conditions. In addition, the Ennepetal Boy Scouts are preparing for their upcoming 60th anniversary on September 13th, 2025 in the St. Johann Baptist Church.
