Experience the Bamberg region: Tourism Day on May 25th!
This year's Tourism Day will take place in the Bamberg district on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Organized under the auspices of the tourism cooperation “Bamberg and the Bamberger Land”, the event will be held in the Bamberger Land Farmers’ Museum in Frensdorf. The aim is to invite citizens from the city and the district of Bamberg to rediscover their homeland Wiesentbote reported.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and has a diverse program that includes, among other things, free guided tours and hands-on activities. To make travel easier, a free bus shuttle, the BAMBERGBüsla, will be set up from Bamberg ZOB to Frensdorf. The shuttle times are as follows:
- Abfahrt ZOB Bamberg (Bussteig S): 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00
- Abfahrt Bauernmuseum: 10:35, 11:35, 13:35, 14:35, 15:35, 16:35
Diverse program in the farmer's museum
The program includes various activities, including tours to the fishing pond, over the Lerchenberg and herb tours. The special exhibition “Cleanliness at all times! Hygiene in the countryside” can also be visited. The hands-on activities organized especially for children, such as the soap laboratory, offer an exciting opportunity to get active and learn new things. Tickets for the offers are available on site, although the number of participants is limited.
A special attraction will be a small tourism fair in the museum hall, at which ten regional partners will present their offers. The “Schmaus” restaurant pampers visitors with hearty Sunday roasts as well as coffee and cake. During the event there will also be a wheel of fortune and a competition for children, who can look forward to little surprises.
Arrival options and further information
There are various ways to get to the Farm Museum. In addition to the free bus shuttle, there is the option of joining a guided bike tour organized by the ADFC from 10:30 a.m. from the Tourist Information Bamberg. There are enough parking spaces for guests arriving by car or the VGN line 990. However, the organizer points out that the shuttle only offers 25 places and no guarantee of transportation can be given. The shuttle is also not barrier-free and changes may occur at short notice.
