Experience the beauty of the Lippe on guided star hikes!

On May 14, 2025, Lippe Tourismus & Marketing GmbH invited people to guided star hikes in the quality region Hiking Germany Lippe - Land des Hermann on the occasion of Hiking Day. This event offered participants the opportunity to experience the beauty of the region in a convivial and active atmosphere.

The hiking tours led from three different starting points: the climate adventure world in Oerlinghausen, the Heidehaus in Augustdorf and the Forstfrieden restaurant in Detmold. Blomberg News highlights that the hikes ran through the Wistinghauser Senne grazing area, where Scottish highland cattle grazed. These routes were between 8 and 9 kilometers long and began between 9 and 9.30 a.m. and ended at the guest's house in Lage-Hörste between 12 and 12.30 p.m.

Community and enjoyment in nature

The experienced hiking and nature park guides accompanied the participants as they explored the forests and waters of the region in pleasant weather. The good mood and the exchange among the hikers contributed to the positive atmosphere. After the hikes, the guests were treated to homemade pickert, coffee and cold drinks.

The event not only provided a beautiful opportunity for hiking, but also fostered a sense of community and regional connection. Mayor Matthias Kalkreuter and District Administrator Dr. Axel Lehmann gave greetings in which they emphasized the attractiveness of Lage-Hörste. Ewald Lienen, climate ambassador for the Lippe district, shared personal memories of his first vacation in Hörste, which underlined the emotional connection to the region.

Planning and participation

The number of participants was limited and registration was required by April 14, 2025 in order to optimally organize the event. Those interested could register by email to wander@kreis-lippe.de for a contribution of 5 euros per person. The return trip to the starting points was offered with a shuttle service at 3 p.m.

The guided star hikes in Lippe not only offered an opportunity to enjoy the picturesque landscape, but also a space for joy and community among nature lovers. This initiative highlights the importance of hiking for local identity and promoting an active lifestyle in the region.
