Options such as the Römer-Lippe route, which are over 400 km long cycling route with a historical flair, or the Ruhrtalradweg, which connects nature and industrial culture on 240 km, are available. The Emscher-Weg leads through exciting industrial regions on a further 100 km. The cycle path network in the Ruhr area comprises more than 1,200 km with a total of 17 thematic routes.
