How to get to Gadisar Lake Jaisalmer?
Gadisar Lake is right on the edge of Jaisalmer Fort, about 2 kilometers from the entrance. From Jaisalmer Fort, it is possible to walk to Gadisar Lake in just under 30 minutes. Alternatively, a rickshaw from the fort to Gadisar Lake only costs around 70-100 rupees each way.
To get to the lake on foot, you have to walk south from the fort until you reach the main road (Gadisar Road). From here, simply continue east along Gadisar Road. Eventually you will come to an intersection called “Gadisar Lake Road”. There is a sign and a few restaurants here to attract tourists.
Follow Gadisar Lake Road and you will reach the lake shore.
Alternative: Book a Jaisalmer walking tour that includes Gadisar Lake for less than $12.

Find Cheap FlightsThe best and easiest way to find cheap flights is to use a flight price search engine like Skyscanner. This compares the best fares from all airlines.
TIP:If you're flexible with your time, search for "Full Month" to see a calendar result with the cheapest days to fly. Find the best deals on accommodationWhether you're looking for hostels, hotels, guesthouses or resorts, you'll always find the best deals in India between Booking.com and Agoda.
TIP: To find the best hostels, I usually compare reviews on Hostelworld and then check other booking sites to further compare prices and deals. Good deals on tours and transportationYou already know that I prefer independent travel. Sometimes the best and cheapest way to get things done is to simply book a tour or package. For India I always use Klook and Viator. By far the cheapest way to get from place to place in India is by long-distance overnight buses. A reliable bus network is Redbus.in, which also has a downloadable app. You can also consider BookAway to compare cheap buses and ground transport options in India. Don't forget adventure travel insurance If you're reading this blog, you're probably looking for adventure while sipping poolside. My two favorite adventure travel options are SafetyWing and World Nomads. Click here to read the comparison between the two.

Notable pages
There are many notable temples and shrines lining the waterfront. Perhaps the most famous of these is the Tilon Ki Pol, a yellowish sandstone gate with a unique history. According to legend, this 14th century gate was built by a famous prostitute! Apparently, when the then ruling Maharawal proposed the construction of the gate, she refused due to the nature of her work. However, she ignored his decision and built it anyway, while also adding a Krishna temple so that the king would not destroy it.
Other notable attractions at Gadisar Lake include a Shiva temple, several centuries-old monuments and some very picturesque pergolas extending into the lake.
Gadisar lake boat
Perhaps one of the best things to do at Gadisar Lake is to rent a pedal boat for sunset or sunrise. I didn't do that during my visit in the stinking midday heat, but I could imagine it would be a great experience.
Cost of boat on Gadisar Lake: 100-150 rupees
