AI is revolutionizing tourism: workshops in Tulln are taking off!

The “AI in Tourism” workshop series officially started on June 5, 2025 at the House of Digitalization in Tulln. This series of events is organized by Lower Austria Advertising and the House of Digitalization and is aimed at actors from the region who are looking for practical impulses for the tourism sector in Lower Austria. The workshops offer participants insights into the possible uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in product development and marketing.

In collaboration with experts such as Philipp-Thomas Müller from the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences and experts from the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, innovative concepts are conveyed. This initiative aims to support local tourism through the use of AI and increase the region's competitiveness. Over 440 participants have already taken advantage of the opportunity to receive further training free of charge and to benefit from the offers.

Workshop dates and registration

The next dates for the workshop series have already been set and invite active participation:

  • 5. Juni, 09:00–13:00 Uhr, RelaxResort Kothmühle, Neuhofen an der Ybbs (Mostviertel)
  • 18. Juni, 14:00–18:00 Uhr, Schloss Haindorf, Langenlois (Donau & Waldviertel)
  • 23. Juni, 09:00–13:00 Uhr, FH Wiener Neustadt (Wiener Alpen und Wienerwald)

Anyone interested can register via the e-learning and knowledge platform for tourism in Lower Austria and become part of the changing tourism landscape.

The look at AI in the tourism sector

In addition to these regional initiatives, the expertise of companies like Realizing Progress also plays a central role. This team specializes in artificial intelligence (AI) in the tourism sector and offers tailor-made formats ranging from keynote speeches at tourism days to interactive webinars. Alex Mirschel, an expert in the Tourism Committee of the German Bundestag, also focused on the opportunities and challenges of AI in tourism.

Realizing Progress supports companies in strategic decisions and product development. With their help, new AI possibilities can be developed, which not only offer operational opportunities, but also raise strategic questions. An example of their offer is a two-hour, individual online impulse on current developments in AI in the tourism sector, which can be flexibly adapted and designed as a training series over several dates.

The combination of these practical workshops with the expertise of Realizing Progress represents a valuable resource for making tourism in Lower Austria sustainable. The use of AI is seen not only as a challenge, but as an opportunity for the innovative development of the sector.
