Kinzigtalsteig: Perfectly signposted for hiking enthusiasts from autumn 2025!

On June 2, 2025, the members' meeting of the Schwarzwald Tourismus Kinzigtal e.V. took place in the Old Capuchin Monastery in Haslach, with around 90 participants recording a record participation. To get things in the right mood, the assembly offered tours of the Blessing of God visitor mine. The central topics of the meeting were the further development of tourism in the region, the discharge of the board of directors and the election of the auditors.

An important resolution of the full members was the new contribution regulations, which will come into force from 2026. Managing director Isabella Schmider presented the association's successful digital measures, including multilingual website offerings, a growing social media presence and an innovative content creator weekend. In addition, 26 brochure stands were set up in heavily frequented tourist locations, funded by the LEADER regional budget.

Kinzigtalsteig: New hiking route being planned

The foundations for the hiking trail were laid in a previous kick-off workshop in October 2022 in Gutach. Various participation groups took part in this meeting, including local Black Forest associations, municipal representatives, those responsible for the forestry industry as well as interested citizens and hosts from the region. The aim was a joint exchange of ideas, which formed the basis for the development of the hiking trail.

The project group, which consists of representatives of the Black Forest Association, tourism experts and members of the marketing committee of Schwarzwald Tourismus Kinzigtal e.V., meets regularly to advance the planning. In 2023, the first route drafts were agreed and the route was checked for suitability for tourism and certifiable aspects. The route experts in Kinzigtal have defined important key points for the course of the hiking route, which weigh up all interests.

Sustainability in focus

Christoph Kunz from Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH gave an outlook on the “KONUS – Digital” project during the meeting. This project aims to strengthen sustainable mobility in the Black Forest. It is another step towards environmentally friendly tourism in the region.

The event ended with a get-together, which offered participants the opportunity to exchange ideas in person and network. The Kinzigtalsteig is not only a new hiking trail, but also a valuable initiative to strengthen tourism and the community in the Black Forest.
