Climate heroes from Altenstadt: Children travel around the world to protect the environment!
On Saturday, a festive event took place at the Regenbogenland kindergarten in Altenstadt/WN that attracted families and friends. Many parents, grandparents and relatives gathered to witness the children's exciting performance. The motto of the play was “The climate heroes travel around the world”. The head of the kindergarten, Martha Pöllath, warmly welcomed the guests and gave the signal for the game to start.
The children accompanied the audience on an imaginary journey that took them to various locations around the globe. The first stop was the South Pole, where melting ice floes endanger the penguins' habitats and an urgent appeal for climate protection was made. Then we go to the rainforest, where a parrot and other jungle animals drew attention to the devastating consequences of deforestation. The third station of the performance was particularly moving: the children rescued a turtle from the plastic waste in the sea, which highlighted the urgent need to better deal with our waste. Finally, the little “climate heroes” met a camel who pointed out to the audience how to use water carefully.
Joint celebration and offers
After the impressive performance, everyone gathered around the kindergarten for a celebration. Coffee, cake, various drinks and grilled specialties from the Richtmann party service were offered here. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the beautiful weather. There were also numerous craft and play activities for the little visitors, including children's tattoos, face painting and a treasure hunt.
The event in the Regenbogenland kindergarten not only showed children's joy in play, but also illustrated the important message of environmental protection and climate change prevention. Loud Oxfam The growing need for humanitarian assistance in the face of climate change, extreme weather events and a lack of resources requires a reorientation of measures.
Oxfam places great value on sustainability and innovation, particularly in humanitarian work. The organization analyzes climate-related risks to water and sanitation and implements innovative technologies, such as wind- and solar-powered water desalination plants, to make alternative water resources accessible in water-scarce countries. These efforts are closely related to the message of the “Climate Heroes,” which highlights the challenges of using water and resources carefully.
