Luxembourg has established itself as a popular travel destination over the past year. With 1.5 million visitors, the small country recorded a 6 percent increase in tourist numbers. The main tourists come from France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

A study by HelloSafe highlights Luxembourg as one of the safest travel destinations in the world. The safety index is 21.3, which puts it in seventh place globally. Iceland, Singapore, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland are in the top five safest countries. Luxembourg missed out on making it into the top five due to extreme weather events and a reduced subjective feeling of security.

Comparison with other countries

In a European comparison, France is in 35th place, Germany is in 15th place, while Belgium is in 25th place. On a global level, the most dangerous countries include the Philippines, Colombia and Mexico, followed by India, Russia and Yemen. The USA positions itself as the 14th most unsafe country in the world, ahead of Syria and Iran, as Lesseniel reported.

Tourist attractions in Luxembourg
