Malimbu Hill is a viewpoint at the top of the coast in Lombok, which is known as one of the best places for Senggigi sunset. The main hill is a grass-covered clearing with isolated palm trees and overlooks the ocean towards the Gili Islands.
Drive to the Malimbu Hill (Bukit Malimbu)
If you are asked where the best viewpoint is on the sunset of Senggigi, you often get the answer Malimbu Hill. At first glance on Google, however, you may be a little confused where the actual location is located.
The official Malimbu Hill is the highest point of the headland on the south side of the Malimbu Beach. It is marked on Google Maps as Bukit Malimbu, which actually means "Malimbu Hill". This is a wide parking space in the curve with a view of the sea and the beach of Malimbu.
On the other side of the Malimbu Beach there is another viewpoint that is known both as a Malimbu Cliff and as Malaka Hill. In my opinion, this hill is, although it is not as high as the southern, official side, an even better viewpoint, as they can go out on the grassy, palm -covered hill to observe the sunset.
I marked both Senggigi sunset outside viewpoints on the map below so that you can find it easier. It should take about 15 minutes to drive from Senggigi here when you take the winding coastal road north.

Viewpoint Malimbu Hill
As soon as you have arrived and have parked your motorcycle or car, you can go out on the concrete path to enjoy a wide view of the sea and the beach of Malimbu.
Since this is the highest headland on the Senggigi coast, it is a perfect place to observe the sliding boats and to watch the sun disappear behind the horizon.
In addition, a monkey family lives here in Bukit Malimbu. You can often find them from the viewpoint in the palm trees on the edge of the cliff.

Malimbu Cliff Viewpoint
The Malimbu Cliff is located on the north side of the Malimbu Beach. However, most people actually refer to this viewpoint when they mention Malimbu Hill. In my opinion, this is the better viewpoint and probably my favorite place for the sunset in Senggigi.
There is enough space to park both a car and a motorcycle. If you come to visit during the sunset, you have to pay 2000 IDR to park your bike.
On the left you can see Malimbu Beach and the Malimbu viewpoint. On the other hand, you have a look at the spectacular Nipah Beach and the Gili Islands that appear on the horizon.

Best location at sunset in Senggigi-Palm Tree Hill
For the best view of the sunset, walk past the stalls on the grassy hill with strangely specified palm trees. This section of the Malimbu Hill is largely cleared and offers a wide view of the sea. This is also a great place to take some iconic Senggigi sunset photos.
When you go down to the edge of the cliff, there is a path that leads a little further down, where you can find your own remote area to watch the sunset.

It is located on the coast near Senggigi Beach, where you can enjoy the view from your balcony or pool. With regard to the value, this is as good as you may find it all over Lombok.
