MSC Opera from 2027: Year-round cruises in the South Caribbean!
From November 2026, MSC Cruises will set a new milestone in the cruise industry by stationing the MSC Opera in the South Caribbean year-round for the first time. This marks a significant step as it is the first summer season in which the company has a vessel presence in this region. The cruises depart from the Dominican port of La Romana and, from April 2027, also from Fort-de-France in Martinique. Interested travelers can look forward to flexible itineraries offering 7-night cruises that can be combined with 14-night “butterfly itineraries.” The MSC Opera itself has a capacity of around 2,600 guests and offers a variety of amenities, including two pool decks, various restaurants and a spa.
The 2026/2027 winter season will also be accompanied by the MSC Seaview, which will also be stationed in the region. The two ships share responsibility for the South Caribbean destinations, offering guests a wide selection of routes and experiences.
Diverse routes and interesting destinations
The MSC Opera's typical 7-night itineraries lead to wonderful destinations such as Isla Catalina, Virgin Gorda and Oranjestad, among others. La Romana, the new home port of MSC Opera, impresses with its relaxed beach atmosphere and sights such as the impressive Cueva de las Maravillas. Isla Catalina, on the other hand, is famous for its crystal clear waters that are ideal for snorkeling and diving.
The MSC Seaview, meanwhile, is heading to Fort-de-France and will offer a 7-night itinerary that includes stops such as Pointe-à-Pitre, Philipsburg and Bridgetown. Fort-de-France offers an attractive mix of nature, history and the unique Creole flair of the Caribbean. The British Virgin Islands and Antigua and Barbuda are also on the program, with their colonial sights and beautiful beaches.
Highlights and special features of the South Caribbean
The islands of the South Caribbean are the focus of the new cruise season. Virgin Gorda, known for the fascinating Baths, attracts hikers and nature lovers, while Castries in St. Lucia beckons with its spectacular Pitons panorama and rainforest cable car. Travelers have the opportunity to experience the region's diverse culture and magical landscape, ideal for relaxation and adventure. MSC Cruises promises an unforgettable time in the South Caribbean for the 2027 summer season.
