Neubrandenburg: Sparkasse modernizes headquarters - that is behind it!
The headquarters of the Sparkasse Neubrandenburg-Demmin is currently being modernized in Platanenstraße in Neubrandenburg. The construction work, which should continue until 2026, are necessary because the approximately 30 -year -old building has to struggle with overheating in summer. This was expressed by CEO Peter Siebken, who described the measures as a step towards improved climatic conditions and energy supply. The first construction phase provides for a demolition of the attic and a new building with a higher drumming height to optimize the usability of the building.
A central goal of the conversion measures is to install solar systems on the new roof to create environmentally friendly energy. The second construction phase will include the establishment of a combined heating and cooling system based on an air heat pump and geothermal energy. For this purpose, holes of up to 100 meters are planned to use geothermal energy.
financing and costs
The total costs for comprehensive modernization amount to an estimated 6.5 to 7 million euros. The first section, which includes the new roof building and the installation of the photovoltaic system, is expected to cost around 4.5 million euros. For the second section that aims at the cooling systems, you expect spending between 2 and 2.5 million euros. All executing companies for the construction work come from Neubrandenburg and the surrounding region.
These measures are not only a contribution to ecological sustainability, but also show the trend towards increasing use of renewable energy sources in the region. The Sparkasse Neubrandenburg-Demmin positions itself with its construction work and support for solar system projects as a pioneer in terms of sustainability.
