New online presence for the Westerwald: rediscover tourism!

The Altenkirchen district has revised its website and presents the new website at www.westerwald-sieg.de. This striking innovation, which will officially launch on June 8, 2025, aims to market the Westerwald-Sieg region professionally and sustainably. The website offers a modern, user-friendly and search engine optimized design, which is also optimized for mobile use. The relaunch of the website is a result of the collaboration between six municipalities and the Westerwald Touristik-Service in Montabaur, which aims to optimally present the region's tourist offerings.

A central element of the new online presence is the joint marketing of the holiday region. The website includes tourist offers from the municipalities of Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld, Betzdorf-Gebhardshain, Daaden-Herdorf, Hamm (Sieg), churches and knowledge. Visitors to the homepage can access information about excursion destinations, adventure offers, restaurants, events and accommodation options. They also have the opportunity to book experiences and accommodations directly.

Diverse functions and offers

The new homepage also allows users to request tour guides, view event tips and order free brochures. A service area for tourism service providers such as restaurateurs and overnight accommodation offers contact persons and contract documents. Particularly noteworthy is the focus on expanding the regional accommodation database, which is to be further developed through the Westerwald-Sieg Tourism initiative.

The website uses the nationwide data management system “feratel Deskline”, which makes handling and maintaining data much easier. Part of the LEADER project “Further development of tourism structures in the Altenkirchen district”, which was started in October of the previous year, is also included in the relaunch.
