New ticketing at the Uri Theater: Only online from June 2025!
The Uri Theater will implement a fundamental reorganization of its ticket sales from June 1, 2023. As the Uri newspaper reported, ticketing will no longer be handled by Uri Tourismus from this date. This is a response to the changing purchasing habits of visitors and the challenges caused by digitalization and the corona pandemic. Traditionally, counter sales were successfully organized by Uri Tourismus, but the changed framework conditions make an internal solution in the theater necessary.
The last tickets for events can be purchased at Uri Tourismus counters until May 31, 2023. After that, ticket purchases will only be possible via the new theater box office or online. Tickets can be purchased at any time via the Theater Uri website, which offers visitors more flexibility and convenience.
New opening hours and fees
From June 1, 2023, the theater box office will be open for ticket sales on certain days. These are on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition, the box office usually opens one hour before the event begins. A fee of two francs will be charged for tickets purchased at the counter and box office to cover the increased operating costs.
Anyone who would like to purchase tickets and vouchers has the opportunity to use the services of Uri Tourismus until May 31, 2025. The corresponding opening times are as follows:

The theater also emphasizes that the box office remains closed on public holidays that fall on a Friday. A further development of the opening times will only be considered if there is an increased number of visitors.
Sustainability and digital ticket use
The Uri Theater recommends that users purchase tickets digitally in order to reduce organizational effort and the ecological footprint. This measure reflects the trend towards increasingly shifting ticket sales digitally, which brings advantages for both operators and visitors.
However, the diverse offerings from Uri Tourism will continue to exist. Visitors can still purchase tourist information, guided tours as well as tickets for the basement theater, public transport tickets and vouchers.
