Oberbayern starts through: Tom e.V. sets new tourism trends!
In the 19th general meeting of Tourismus Upper Bavaria Munich e.V. (Tom e.V.) On May 21, 2025, a pioneering strategic realignment was presented. An important result of this meeting was the founding of the Upper Bavaria adventure partner network, which combines leisure providers and tourist service providers. Klaus Stöttner was again elected as president, while Doris Baumgartl and Benedikt Brandmeier were newly elected to the Presidium. Brandmeier also takes over the office of Vice President. Angela Inselkammer was unanimously elected vice president, and Karlheinz Jungbeck was confirmed as a co -opted member.
The meeting underlined the economic importance of tourism in Upper Bavaria. The room already recorded over 46 million overnight stays in 2024, which makes it one of the strongest tourism regions in Germany. Dr. Christian Scharpf, speaker for work and economy of the city of Munich, emphasized the importance of cooperation between urban institutions and the tourism sector. Oswald Pehel, managing board of Tom e.V., emphasized that it is not only about economic success, but also a holistic tourism development as part of the quality of life and regional identity.
focus of the new strategy
TOM e.V. positions itself as a modern habitat organization with a clear vision and a compass. The new strategy is based on four central leading topics: sustainability, mobility, digitization as well as specialist and labor generation. This concept aims to strengthen the network structures and promote profiled travel experiences. A current study has also shown that 93 % of people in Upper Bavaria feel tourism as an important factor for the region.
An important part of the new orientation is the campaign to value tourism, which is planned for 2025. Tom e.V. has set itself the goal of becoming the most networked and distinguished tourism network in Germany. This includes almost 70 members, which include almost all destinations, tourist district representatives, cities and tourism -related associations in Upper Bavaria.
important partnerships and networks
The adventure partner network brings together a total of 12 leisure providers to ensure joint marketing and better political visibility for tourism in the region. This is considered crucial to secure competitiveness and to increase the attractiveness of Upper Bavaria as a tourism goal.
Overall, Tom e.V. shows with its new strategy and the network how active destination management succeeds and what importance tourism has for regional identity. Stöttner and his team strive for a close integration of regional offers to further increase value creation, appreciation as well as the quality and innovative strength within the tourist industry.
