On May 13, 2025, an important event for the handball community in Kiel is coming up: the farewell game of Patrick Wiencek, a long-time THW Kiel player. The event will take place on July 25th in the Kiel Wunderino Arena. The event will be hosted in the new “AIDA meets Cruise Lounge”, which has been specially designed for VIP guests and offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy the game in a comfortable environment while interacting with other handball fans.
The lounge is open this evening from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Visitors can look forward to a comprehensive range of food and drinks that leaves nothing to be desired. The lounge is also located in the immediate vicinity of the padded business seats, which guarantees an optimal view of the game. A special highlight will be the players' visit to the lounge after the game, which will certainly make the evening unforgettable for the fans.
Ticket information and booking
Tickets for the farewell game are available via an online order form. After ordering, buyers will receive a confirmation email. Invoices will be sent by email from June 2025 and tickets provided as e-tickets cannot be exchanged or returned. The AIDA meets cruise lounge
The introduction of the “AIDA meets Cruise Lounge” is the result of a cooperation between the Rostock-based Kussmund shipping company AIDA and the cruise lounge, which has been a partner of THW Kiel since last year. In the future, this modern lounge will be the place where fans will have the opportunity to network in a relaxed atmosphere and talk shop about handball. Pascal Wepner, the owner of the cruise lounge, was positive about the collaboration, while THW managing director Viktor Szilagyi sees the partnership as an opportunity to further consolidate Kiel's international recognition as a cruise destination.
Kiel's location as an important cruise location is further underlined by the delicious offerings in the new lounge and the service options. Every year, many thousands of cruise travelers start and end in the port of Kiel, making the city an integral part of the cruise industry.
