Peter Maffay is planning a new album – focus on the future and family!

Peter Maffay, the popular musician, is currently working on a new album, like schlager.de reported. The artist said goodbye to the big touring stage last year and is only making a handful of appearances this year. His last album, “We Love Rock’N’Roll”, as well as the live album that followed, which offered a look back at his career, impressively show his artistic work.

Although Maffay plans to focus more on his family in the future, he is not thinking about quitting. He describes the creative process as a need for articulation that expresses itself in music. He sees this creation as art and craft at the same time, emphasizing that artists are also craftsmen. However, details regarding the release date and title of the new album are not yet known.

Farewell tour and comeback

In order to give his fans the opportunity to say goodbye to him, Peter Maffay is planning a farewell tour for 2024 under the motto “We Love Rock 'n' Roll - Farewell Tour”. This tour includes sold-out stadiums and open-air arenas and concludes on July 20, 2024 at Leipzig's Red Bull Arena. Guest stars such as Johannes Oerding, Joy Denalane, Rea Garvey, Bülent Ceylan and Anastacia will enrich the tour.

In autumn 2024, Maffay will also release a live album entitled “We Love Rock 'n' Roll: Leipzig 2024 - Live”, which has already entered the German album charts at number 1. This is Maffay's 21st number one album in Germany and represents a record for an artist in a single country. The live album contains both classics and new duets with famous artists.

Planned mini-tour and engagements

In 2025, Maffay is planning a mini-tour called “Love Places 2025”, which will include hand-picked open-air concerts in Schwarzenberg, Loreley and Kestenholz. What's particularly exciting is that fans can submit their song requests for the concert setlist, which increases the interaction between Maffay and his audience.

In addition to his musical activities, Maffay appeared on the "Beatrice Egli Show" in late October 2024 to present a children's musical called "Anouk". Anouk is his daughter, who was born in 2018 and is now six years old. Maffay secretly married his partner Hendrikje Balsmeyer in 2022, with whom he lives a happy life between Germany and Spain. In Spain he is committed to helping traumatized children and owns a finca in Mallorca.

Personal satisfaction

Maffay is in good health after giving up smoking. In interviews he appears calm and content with his life, without being afraid of death. His artistic work remains a central part of his life, even when he takes a break after the big tour. Maffay plans to continue writing and recording music and thus remains an active part of the music scene.
