Peter Maffay: Rock Legend and AutoFan celebrates 75th birthday!
Peter Maffay, the iconic rock musician and passionate motorcyclist, is currently celebrating extraordinary success on both stage and in his private life. Maffay, who commits his 75th birthday this week, can look back on an impressive career of 55 years, in which he released over 20 albums that reached the top of the charts. His current farewell tour "We Love Rock’n’roll" attracts thousands of fans, including 21,000 who visited a concert in the Waldbühne in Berlin, despite adverse weather conditions. A total of over 42,000 visitors flocked to two sold -out concerts.
His passion for motorcycles is unmistakable because he solemnly drove onto the stage on a Harley Davidson, which underlines his connection to the machines. Under his vehicles, Maffay privately has a Harley-Davidson Softail, which was given to him for his 30th anniversary. Another Harley is said to have been bought by his ex-wife Tania as part of a bet. In addition, he drives a VW Golf R 4Motion with 310 hp, which he personally picked up in Wolfsburg.
Diverse interests and commitment to children
Love for cars and motorcycles is not limited to sports cars or two -wheelers. Maffay also has a VW sedan and collects classic car tractors, in addition to his remarkable Porsche 964. One of his outstanding features is his ability to maintain close connections to automobile manufacturers, especially to Volkswagen, with whom he has maintained a partnership for about seven years. This relationship was consolidated by the cooperation between the VW Workers' Foundation and the Peter Maffay Foundation, which have been working together on projects to support children since 2015.
A central concern of Maffay is the early clarification of children about environmental and climate protection. He is actively committed to sensitizing younger generations to these topics. He recently even appeared by bike to a press date in Mallorca, which shows its versatility and connection to nature. However, he is aware that the love of speed and car also has a place in his life, since he describes himself as a "terrible passenger" who complains a lot if it does not sit at the wheel himself.
The highlights of the concerts include duets with well -known guests such as Johannes Oerding, Joy Denalane and his son Yaris, as well as his encounter with Anastacia, who presented her hit "So you are". The concerts are always an emotional experience, final highlights form songs such as "Nessaja" and "You have to go about seven bridges". Peter Maffay, who will perform again in the Waldbühne on July 9, 2024, remains an integral part of the German music landscape and a tireless fighter for the coming generations.
