Peter Urban says ESC countdown show: Heavy fall as a reason!

Basel, Schweiz - Peter Urban, the iconic voice of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), unfortunately cannot take part in the countdown show "Chefsick ESC 2025-Live from Basel". The 77-year-old had to cancel his participation for health reasons after suffering a serious fall last weekend. According to his wife, Laura Urban, the fall is due to a disability, which severely limits him due to a lack of hip joint. Laura Urban expressed that it "hurts in her soul" not to be able to be at the show because the ESC was always a matter close to his heart.

The countdown show, which is scheduled to take place on May 14th, will be moderated by Thorsten Schorn, who was already succeeding Urban as an ESC commentator in 2024. Merkur reports that the Eurovision Song Contest this year from ABOR & TYNNA, consisting of Attila and Fund Bornemisza, is represented.
