Redwater Creek Falls Tasmania - waterfall leader
A short guide to visit the Redwater Creek Falls near Sheffield, Tasmania. Find out how you come here, what to expect and take a look at photos of the waterfalls and caves.
Redwater Creek Falls is a group of two less visited waterfalls that flow between Railton and Sheffield at the Redwater Creek. A visit to these seasonal waterfalls is a great thing after rain, especially if you are in Sheffield.
In this guide, I will inform you about everything you need to know about visiting these waterfalls and add some photos of which I hope you will inspire your visit.
How do you get the Redwater Creek Falls?
To get to Redwater Creek, you should make your way to the Stoodley Forest, about 6.2 kilometers from the Sheffield Visitor Center along the Sheffield Road. I have set the exact location for a large parking lot near the pine forest, where you have access to the wide hiking trail to the waterfalls.
Hike to the Redwater Creek Falls
The short walk to the Redwater Creek Falls begins at the large parking lot next to the BMX route in the Stodley Forest. This route is pretty much a street, but is often closed to vehicles with a large steel gate.

On the hike to the waterfalls, follow a section of the Tasmanian Trail. About 1 kilometer up the route you can reach a wire gate on the right side with a sign with the inscription "Waterfall".

Open this gate and you are at the foot of the main waterfall at the Redwater Creek. The second waterfall is a little further downstream, but is smaller.

Redwater-Creek caves
When you cross the river above the first main stage of the waterfall, you can follow the path to some small unnamed caves. A wooden ladder is attached to the rock face. Although it is not huge caves, they are cool to explore and photograph. Unfortunately my camera died on this trip, but I managed to take a few photos for you with my cell phone.
