Black Forest Association visits Munich: rain, treasures and culinary delights!
The group from the Tuttlingen Black Forest Association recently went on a four-day city trip to Munich. Despite two rainy days, the mood did not deteriorate. The residence and the Cuvilliés Theater were spontaneously visited, which was a welcome change from the planned outdoor program, which included a ride on the Umadum Ferris wheel. During the trip, the group enjoyed numerous activities and culinary experiences at various restaurants.
The city leaders, including a native of Munich, shared exciting stories about the city and led the participants through the former working-class district of Haidhausen and to the highlights of the old town. Even though the brass music at the Chinese Tower in the English Garden was missing, the surfers at the Eisbach wave provided special moments. A tour of Schwabing revealed imaginative palaces and impressive Art Nouveau buildings.
A high visit value
Another highlight of the trip was the visit to the Munich Residence, which is considered one of the most beautiful royal palaces in Europe. Loud TripAdvisor Visitors should plan at least a morning or afternoon for the visit. An integrated ticket for around 20 euros allows access to the treasury, the palace and the court theater. Access to the gardens is free.
The treasury contains masterpieces of goldsmith's art, including a reliquary of San Giorgio. In the palace itself, visitors can expect numerous rooms, which are described in detail with an audio guide. The Renaissance Antiquarium with its magnificent frescoes is particularly recommended.
A sunny ending
On the last day of the trip the sun rewarded the participants. A visit to the Viktualienmarkt and lunch in a garden restaurant was a wonderful end to the trip. Tram number 21 was the main means of transport in Munich. It offered an environmentally friendly but jerky ride through the city. The Bundesbahn's punctual schedule was almost disappointing compared to the adventures of previous years.
The delicious white sausages from Wallner in the wholesale market hall and the heavy rain as the group leaves will also leave special memories. The trip was not only a cultural discovery tour, but also an opportunity for socializing and exchange within the group, which ultimately had little impact on the weather.
