Selvatica rope slip tour: An exciting day in Mexico
The Selvatica rope slip tour would be the most entertaining and unforgettable day of the entire trip
When I ended up in Mexico, I was primarily enthusiastic about two things: his beautiful beaches and its Mayan ruins, especially those of Chichen Itza. Two weeks of the sun and lazy ones were planned, peppered with a little culture, so I booked a trip to Selvatica out of a mood.
I usually avoid booking trips from hotel brochures, but the tour seller at our hotel reception was so friendly that we couldn't help but stop and talk to him, and soon he let us separate us from £ 50 to book the rope slide from Selvatica Tour or 'Extreme Canopy Tour'. I had no idea that it would be the funniest and memorable day of the entire trip.
We arrived by bus and were received by a group of lively, supercharismatic guides who equipped us with helmets and climbing straps. After a short time we found ourselves on the first of 12 rope slides that were wired over the jungle of Yucatan.

Fortunately, we were in a group of adventure junkies, so there were no nervous Nellies that you had to calm down and wait. It was boom boom boom, one after the other, hopped, buzzed and screamed with excitement.
Unfortunately, I kept getting stuck through the line about two thirds, where a guide jumped onto the line, two feet around my creep and back. Apparently I was "too easy", so I didn't get enough - although I am not sure if that's true if you consider how it happened Boris.
The Zipline part of the tour passed in an intoxicating mixture of adrenaline and laughter. The guides even turned us upside down a few times, which was quite an experience. After the tour we took a lunch break (included in the price) and then went deeper into the jungle to a remote cenote (doline).

There we put on our bathing clothes. Since there were no changing rooms, we had to improvise something. We spent a few fantastic hours with swimming and lazing in the beautiful cenote.
The guides had mounted a rope in the cenote to dive, but I did not take part as a relatively weak swimmer. When it was time to go, we dried, went back to the guest reception and said goodbye to our great guides.
On the way back we have a bonus stop at another, larger dolin hole that is usually not included on the tour. Here we watched a while instead of swimming because it was much more busy than where we were before - but still nice. All in all, it was the best day of our trip and is absolutely essential for everyone who visits the area.

Travel time: Mexico has two main climate sites: rainy (May to mid -October) and dry (mid -October to April). In the rainy months it can get pretty hot and humid, so you may find the dry season more pleasant. In mid -December to the beginning of January and July, August and Easter, they are the main vacation months, so avoid them if you can.
