Dispute over access: mountain hut in the Giant Mountains remains closed!

In the heart of the giant mountains, the mountain hut Luční Bouda, also known as meadow bodies, ensures heated discussions. The hotel, which is at an altitude of 1410 m above sea level. M. is located and over 150 beds and a restaurant, is confronted with serious difficulties. The owners complain about persistent conflicts with the national park administration that have a negative impact on the company.

The operators of the Wiesenbaude report harassment by the responsible national park administration, which refuses to access cars for both the owners as well as the staff and the suppliers. This restriction affects not only the meadow bodies, but also twelve other buildings in the Krnap National Park. In order to be allowed to drive in the national park at all, an exemption is required that is often not granted.

protests and closures

The administration of the national park rejects the allegations of the owners and emphasizes that the traffic restrictions have been unchanged for over 30 years. There is still an access option for necessary deliveries and service work; However, driving without valid approval is not permitted in sensitive parts of the park. Co -owner Stanislav Beneš expresses sharp criticism of the installation of automatic input cameras by the national park administration. He is convinced that the quality of the services offered will suffer significantly.

In response to the ongoing conflicts and the associated restrictions, the Wiesenbaude team decided to close the mountain hut for day tourists in protest. Entry is therefore reserved for only overnight stays. This step is part of a larger protest that also includes the temporary hiring of the activity of the private emergency services "Vrcholky Hor".

No compromises in security

The situation around the meadow bodies is tense. The location near Sněžka, which is a popular destination for hikers and tourists, could be sustainably impaired by the consequences of the traffic restrictions and the lack of adequate access. Those responsible require a review and adaptation of the current regulations in order to be able to guarantee the quality of the services in the mountain hut.

With these complex challenges, a solution is urgently required so that the meadow building can continue to serve as an important starting point in the national park and for the many visitors to the giant mountains. The discussions about access and regulations will surely continue in the coming weeks and months, while the owners and the national park administration will have to clarify their positions.
