Stuiben Trailrun 2025: Snowfall and records inspire 800 athletes!

The Stuiben Trailrun 2025 attracted nature and trail running enthusiasts back to Umhausen between May 22nd and 24th. In cool temperatures and snowfall, around 800 athletes from 24 nations took part in this unique event. The event offered a family atmosphere and a varied setting, which also included expert talks, a trail running film evening and live music. Around half of the participants came from Germany, which underlines the importance of the competition for the international trail running community.

The participants had the challenge of mastering the 728 natural and steel steps along the impressive Stuibenfalls, the largest waterfall in Tyrol at 159 meters high. This applied regardless of the distance chosen. In addition to the majestic backdrop, the athletes had to reckon with snow-covered passages at over 2,000 m altitude.

Winners and records

In the premier discipline over 44.1 km, Mathieu Delpeuch (FRA) was the fastest runner and secured first place. In the women's race, Edith Zell (AUT) won the same distance. Both showed outstanding performances and contributed to the highlights of the event. Hanoverian Sven Koch set a new course record in the Stuiben Trail 24K with a time of 2:30:02 h, while Mathieu Delpeuch also set a record in the Stuiben Trail 42K with 4:46:20 h. Edith Zell followed in her category with a time of 6:24:17 h.

Diverse program and orientation

The Stuiben Trailrun has a clear focus on regionality, sustainability and quality. With the integration of various program items such as the WIDI Trailrun for children and the Raiffeisen Running Cup 2025 for participants aged 3 to 14, the event shows a strong commitment to the local community. The 12K events covered 12.5 km with 700 meters of elevation gain, while the 42K trail was a challenge with 3,100 meters of elevation gain.

The next highlight in the trail running calendar is the Glacier Trail Run in Gurgl, which will take place from July 17th to 19th, 2025. The event will feature distances of up to 61.1 km and an elevation gain of 3,600 meters, presenting athletes with a new demanding challenge.

The Stuiben Trailrun remains not just a competition, but also a celebration of the trail running community and the nature that surrounds it.[Cision]and[Ötztal Trail Running]report that the event once again won the hearts of athletes and spectators.
