Tyrol presents itself in Berlin: Tourism and quanta as top topics!

The event "Tirol Grüßt Berlin" took place last Friday, May 15, 2025, in the Army Bakery in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg. Organized by the Habitat Group of the State of Tyrol, the event is aimed at a target group of over 200 entrepreneurs and 60 tour operators, travel bloggers, journalists, influencers and wholesale. With Germany as a formative market for Tyrolean tourism, which is more than 50% of the overnight stays, it is a strategically important step to take this attitude to life to Berlin.

Mario Gerber, Tyrolean Economic and Tourism State Councilor, emphasized the opportunities that Tyrol offers for companies, specialists and investors. The presence in Berlin is crucial for future holiday decisions and network connections. For the Tyrolean economy, Germany is not only an important tourism market, but also the most important export market, especially in agriculture, with 200 tons of cheese annually, which are delivered to Germany via cooperation with German organic trade chains.

focus on innovation and business location

During the event, interactive “Break Out Sessions” took place, which illuminated the versatility of Tyrol as an economic and science location. Company settlements such as online birds, a specialist for hotel online marketing, and IVATO GmbH, which work in the areas of management consultancy and digitization, were mentioned. Over 45 operating settlements and extensions were recorded by the Tyrol location agency in 2024, with investments of over 90 million euros being sought in the next three years.

A particularly interesting highlight was the meeting of more than 150 entrepreneurs on May 15th in the "Tirol Hub" in Berlin, which focused on the areas of IT and quantum technology. Tyrol is increasingly positioning itself as an innovation room in these technologies and thus attracting companies and start-ups.

cuisine and tourist diversity

An equally important part of the campaign is the culinary presentation of Tyrol in Berlin. The Tyrol Group habitat has started a 360 ° campaign under the motto "Always for you" to promote Tyrol as a holiday destination. Numerous tasting actions are planned in Berlin's Dennree branches, where Tyrolean cheeses are presented. From the end of April to the end of May, 40 campaigns are planned in 20 branches.

In addition, initiatives were started through cooperation with Berlin climbing halls and the “Urban Sports Club” sports community app to promote summer tourism, you aim at climbers, mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners.

accessibility and quality of experience

In order to further improve Tyrol's accessibility, faster rail connections from Berlin to Innsbruck and planned direct connections have come into focus. Kitzbühel and Achensee Tourismus strengthened the importance of their region and the quality of experience of the Tyrolean offer during the event.

Elisabeth Riederer, deputy Austrian ambassador in Berlin, and Martin Reiter, Managing Director of the Habitat Group, both underlined the important role of the Berlin campaign and the constant endeavor to position Tyrol as an outstanding location for tourism, economy and culinary deliberation.
