Voll die Ruhr 2025: A family festival full of fun and action!

On Saturday, May 24th, 2025, the children, youth and family festival “Voll die Ruhr” will take place on the lock island in Mülheim an der Ruhr. The event starts at 12 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Admission is free and families, children and young people from the surrounding area are expected to attend.

A wide range of activities are offered to visitors on the festival grounds. Highlights include football in the soccer court, throwing cans, applying make-up to wounds, and exciting attractions such as bouncy castles, a bungee trampoline and a rodeo. For slightly older young people there is a special youth area with music, cocktails, DIY activities and workshops.

Sports and entertainment

The sports area offers a variety of activities including a ninja course, mini skate ramp, climbing tower, slackline, martial arts and football. The program is designed to offer something for all ages to spend an unforgettable day on the water.

A special attraction is the raft trip, which starts at 11 a.m. at the Dicken am Damm campsite. This experience is followed by an exciting rubber duck race that takes place at 3 p.m. at the Flora Bridge. The ducks' award ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. on the stage on the lock island.

Culinary and flea market

The dining offering includes stalls selling fries, currywurst, crepes, waffles and cakes, catering for every culinary need. There will also be a flea market that can be visited free of charge and starts without registering for a stand. On the middle meadow of the Luisental, the motto applies: “First come, first served”, although cars are not allowed to drive on the meadow.

The festival is organized by the Office for Children, Youth, Schools and Integration of the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr, the Stadtjugendring Mülheim an der Ruhr and the Working Group of Open Doors (AGOT) Mülheim an der Ruhr. The event is supported by the Forum Mülheim (Entenstiftung) and the Rheinisch-Westfälische Wasserwerksgesellschaft (RWW).
