Waterfall Neer Garh-where is that?

The waterfall Neer Garh is about 4 km or 40 minutes walk from the Laxman Jhula bridge in the main area of Tapovan in Rishikesh.

I have given the exact location below to facilitate navigation, but basically you have to follow the Highway 7 (Karprayag-Haridwar RD) to the east until you see signs to the Neer Garh waterfall.

Of course you can rent a motorcycle or a scooter to get from Rishikesh to the Neer Garh waterfall. However, the path along the highway offers enough space for safe pedestrian traffic and is quite picturesque because it follows the steep banks of the gang and climbs.

keep an eye out for a steep winding road that branches off to the left of the highway. This is the Neergarh Waterfall Road and is located directly opposite the Neer Buddha Hotel.

Go up this steep road until you reach a ticket counter where you have to pay the entry fee. From here they continue up the road with the possibility of taking some abbreviations through the forest until they reach the waterfalls.

Neer Garh Waterfall Rishikesh Ticket Prize

The costs for the Neer Garh Waterfall Rishikesh are 50 rupees for foreigners and 30 rupees for locals. At the Neergarh Waterfall Road there is a ticket counter shortly before the entrance to the hiking trail.

Walk to the Neer Garh Waterfall Tiers

Neer Garh Waterfall Rishikesh consists of several levels, while the current falls down the mountain slopes. There is a hiking trail to every level that is a combination of earth, concrete and small pedestrian bridges.

The hike to the Neer Garh waterfall takes about 20-30 minutes from the ticket counter to the upper level of the waterfalls. However, you can probably expect to relax and swim on the waterfalls at least a few hours. Overall, the hike is not too steep and quite simple. During my visit, more than a few older women went to the upper floors.

There are also a few cafes and restaurants that have built up around the waterfalls. I personally prefer remote and natural waterfalls, so I recommend my favorite level below, which is a little hidden.

The most remote waterfall level

Many people tend to skip this level of the Neer Garh Falls and to approach the concrete path that leads to the upper levels. If you prefer a more remote waterfall away from cafés and crowds, I would recommend stopping by at the lower level. You can find it out of sight, below the top curve of the Neer Garh Road, near the waterfall parking lot (GPS coordinates below).

This level has a few smaller levels and flat, turquoise swimming holes. This section of the waterfall is quite steep, but offers an astonishing view when you sunbathe in the fresh Himalaya water and look at the mountain landscape in advance.

Walk on

As soon as you have reached the highest level of the Neer Garh Fall, there is the option of moving up the dirt road further. This path follows the stream to the hills above Neer Garh, past a small structure that is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

This path leads to a remote yoga retreat called Uddibaba, a picturesque and picturesque camp away from the leaked path, embedded between the green hills above Rishikesh.

The same path leads to the small communities of Dangoo. We decided to follow the stream path to the hill directly above the yoga retreat. From here we rewarded ourselves with great views of the distant mountains and the tahernaches underneath.

where to stay in Rishikesh

After I had spent a few weeks to relax and experience all the epic things that can be done and seen in Rishikesh, I finally stayed in a few different hotels and hostels. The most important thing you should pay attention to in Rishikesh is the location.

Many backpackers, including me, recommend staying in the Tapovan area. There are so many things to do in Tapovan because this is the most important tourist area in Rishikesh. It doesn't matter whether you live on the south or north side, as everything can be reached on foot.

My favorite hostel in Rishikesh: Live Free Hostel After looking at a few hostels, Live Free definitely had the best atmosphere. In addition to an inner courtyard and comfortable rooms, there is also a large meeting point on the ground floor, where joint cooking activities and film evenings take place. There is also free morning yoga on the roof. Beds are also incredibly cheap, for less than $ 4 per night! However, when I booked, it was cheaper at booking.com for some reason than with Hostelworld for this hostel.

Best budget private room: Hotel Yogwenn prefers to relax alone or in pairs, the Hotel Yog is one of the best budget hotels in the Tapovan area. The rooms are considered inexpensive, but are somewhat more expensive than the nearby hostels. But for only about $ 20 per night for spacious rooms with a view of the mountains, a continental breakfast and a roof terrace you can really do nothing.

The best rated yoga resort: Rudram Hotel Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat Do you want to make a whole range of yoga in Rishikesh, but still stay in the Tapovan area? This place offers yoga courses and free yoga classes on the ganges. The rooms are super comfortable and have air conditioning and mountain views.
